Trelleborg Viking Camp, Sjælland, Denmark

 

One would suppose that Denmark and Scandinavia had masses of objects and sites  from the Viking days.

Actually, there really are not so many and one of the better Viking Camps is at Trelleborg near Slagelse in

South-West Sjælland about 90 minutes away from Copenhagen.

The Camp is close to the sea with the two little rivers of The Tude and the Vårby forming part

of the perimeter defences. It is calculated that the camp was built about 980

 

There is a small museum/exhibition and shop at the entrance to the Site and cafe in the summer months
